A recent abstract, in acrylic on paper, "Whistling Down the Street". . .with big bold areas of color, some texture and areas of color gradations to make it interesting. I hope this painting is as fun to look at as it was to paint!  I wanted to show this matted and framed in a complementary contemporary frame which always finishes off a painting so well!

"Hotter than a Match Head", mixed media abstract landscape

"Hotter than a Match Head", mixed media on panel
Acrylic + oil paints; 12" x 16"

completed May, 2013

$175.

including shipping; U.S.A.

Having a lot of fun here, painting these mixed media abstracts on panel.  I paint, and make things up from imagination and when I'm finished these paintings remind me of some thing, or somewhere.  This reminds me of the agricultural town of Thermal in the California desert , looking towards the glowing Mecca Hills with the agricultural hayfields in front of the hills.

The wonderful thing about abstracts is one can be reminded of whatever, and wherever it is, that these paintings bring to mind !

The painting is in acrylic paints on archival panel; it can be framed in a standard sized (off the shelf) frame.  It's signed on the back, and when shipped is protected in foamcore, wrapped in a protective plastic sleeve.  Shipping is by FedEx Ground.  If you have questions please contact me here

These current paintings will be shown at the Jack London Square Artists, participating in East Bay Open Studios.  Our popup show of 45 artists at the former Barnes and Noble location at Jack London Square in Oakland, CA will be open the first two weekends in June. Aqueous Garden, mixed media abstract by Lynne Cunningham

"Aqueous Garden", 24" x 30"
mixed media (acrylic and oil paints) on canvas

completed 4/12/13

$1200.  , shipping is included

This painting is another in a series of abstract waterscapes ; the series began in August of 2010! There are subjects I return to repeatedly for the inspiration.   I'm always attracted to water, the flow and patterns created by it.

When painting spontaneously in my studio recently (no photo references; just paint, canvas and imagination), the painting emerged looking like an underwater garden, a tidepool.  This was a fascinating painting in the few stages it underwent to paint and see the idea emerge. I wrote about the process   h e r e  while in the middle of painting several works .

For more of the paintings from this series, please view the abstract waterscapes on    my website

The painting is finished on the edges, and ready to hang.  It is wrapped, double-boxed and the shipping costs are included.  Payment will be with a credit card, and a Paypal receipt is emailed to you.  For any questions or for purchase  please contact me H E R E

"Fields of Joy, version three", abstract painting by Lynne Cunningham

"Fields of Joy (three)", oil on canvas
20" x 20"
completed April 10th, 2013
$650 including shipping
(Calif. residents pay sales tax)

"Fields of Joy, version three", is the third in this series of paintings.  I live in a neighborhood surrounded by safflower fields, alfalfa fields and plowed up areas waiting for summer seeding.  In the spring, the winter wheat is ready to harvest and has a viridian green to acid green color. . . so we have origins for the name of this painting and the inspiration for the color palette.

And if you'd like to see more abstracts, see the  abstract  gallery    h e r e   on my website.  I have two summer group shows coming up that I'm getting ready for!  Lots of anticipation!  I'm offering them here, at this price.  Shipping is included.

If you have any questions, please  contact me

"Fields of Joy (version two)", abstract oil painting by Lynne Cunningham

"Fields of Joy (version two)", oil on canvas
20" x 16"
completed March 3, 2013
$350. - including shipping
(Calif. residents pay sales tax)

"Fields of Joy (version two)" is a painting that was inspired by the first.   Working in series is good practice or a good habit to get into as an artist, and I can see changing or tweaking the concept from these first two.  These are inspired by my post-modern era roots in southern California, Mondrian and other inspirations!  Modernism is back and I'm enjoying it.

I live in a neighborhood surrounded by safflower fields, alfalfa fields and right now,  winter wheat.  In the summer the sunflowers are everywhere . . . so there you have the origins for the name of this painting.

I'm focusing on abstracts and abstracted landscapes for 2013; a new season of spring, the time of growth and I'm doing new work.  Please contact me if you have questions or want to purchase; contact me H E R E
