This totem is another in my Skinny Series. It is a mixed media collage on panel, with a backing board that makes it stand out from the wall about an inch. The variety of colors and texture reminds one of a busy marketplace.
When I brought it up from my basement studio, I was amazed at how the color palette matched the palette of a previous floral painting I had done some years ago

The blues of this piece are unusual in a piece that was inspired by canyon walls. This reversal of the typical browns and oranges that are usually found in landscapes makes the abstract stand out from others.

This geologic abstract suggests a desert or arid landscape with small trickles of water. The canvas surface is heavily textured in many areas. I love finishing paintings with line details as seen here.
