I just finished this one today.. loving these Crescent Watercolor Boards.

I stumbled on them a couple of weeks ago and have not looked back since. 

The surface is Cold Pressed, and the panel is a rigid support.. so when framing it, one coul even omit having to use foam core onto which to mount the painting.

They come in quite a few sizes too which I like.

Shell Fantasy 2..Watermedia Abstract..Texas Artist..Rae Andrews

This was a very old painting I did many years ago and I just found an old photo. It sold right away, and I am sorry I did not get a better photo of it. 

The whole painting is done in watercolor with inks and acrylics. 

My trademark geometric shapes was even evident way back then (around 1989) 

So much fun to see older works.

   JAZZ SESSION  was a fun one to paint for me. I love color, and the painting just seemed to remind me of a jazz bar I frequented as a teenager in Sydney back in the late 1960's and early 1970's called Red Ned's.

This image was not planned out at all, and the music notes and part of a guitar came out of the paint.I love doing these sort of jigsaw puzzle paintings.

FLORAL FRAGMENTS was a painting I did for my last solo show in Georgetown, Texas.
It is still available.
This painting is all about the LAYERING  process, which I just love doing with my acrylics and oils on canvas.

I put elements in, then reduce or take them away in part, or absolutely.

It's such a jig saw process, but great fun..

This piece measures 15" x 30"x 2".

Leslie collects cats. Every time, I’m over there working, one will jump out behind a pot.

It almost reminds me of that Hitchcock movie “The Birds”; although they are not attacking me .I asked if I could do a painting of her holding Boots.

 

She is an extremely kind and generous woman and basically lets me use my own discretion in her garden. She has tons of cat wall planters,sconces and there are also ceramic cats everywhere. This is basically an abstract and cubist style painting. If I don’t sell it by Christmas, I will give it to her as a gift.
