NEPTUNE'S NAUTILUS  is a large 36" x 48" watercolor and acrylic overlays. This image is SOLD!

This painting was painted a long time ago, however during my walk down 'MEMORY LANE" I found it in my archives and wanted to post it.

It was during the days I lived on Maui and  I did a lot of PANELLED PIECES, using geometry and dividing the background into sections. I still enjoy doing this, it takes a lot of thought on my part as an artist, which I do feel is necessary for us to grow. 

What is an artist without 'angst' huh?

I pass a play gym every day when I walk my dogs in the park, and the colors are always such fun.. All those angles are very eye catching to me as an artist.

   JAZZ SESSION  was a fun one to paint for me. I love color, and the painting just seemed to remind me of a jazz bar I frequented as a teenager in Sydney back in the late 1960's and early 1970's called Red Ned's.

This image was not planned out at all, and the music notes and part of a guitar came out of the paint.I love doing these sort of jigsaw puzzle paintings.

Floral Fragments...Acrylic...Abstract..Texas Artist...Rae Andrews

FLORAL FRAGMENTS was a painting I did for my last solo show in Georgetown, Texas.
It is still available.
This painting is all about the LAYERING  process, which I just love doing with my acrylics and oils on canvas.

I put elements in, then reduce or take them away in part, or absolutely.

It's such a jig saw process, but great fun..

This piece measures 15" x 30"x 2".
It is an acrylic on gallery wrap canvas with all sides painted.

PURPLE KOI PATTERNS  is another small semi abstract design .

I simply love doing these fish! They have such a wonderful shape.

This painting started with no re-drawing at all. I waited till my paint had dried, then worked the fish into the marks.

This is watercolor mounted onto cradled clayboard.

It is then sprayed with many layers of a UV varnish, making is very durable and not necessary to have glass on the painting.
