matted and framed as shown below

I'm onto a series of acrylic paintings lately,  in the theme of abstract gardens and florals.  What better time than now, at the end of winter  . . .to enjoy a vibrant abstract of a floral garden!  You can visualize how this would look matted and framed in the image below.

The vibrant color palette and expressionist brushstrokes in this painting are lovely and fresh  . . .I enjoyed painting this one! View this as it would look once matted and framed:

Cover Art ! "Midsummer Chroma" is cover for local magazine, Oct. 2013! Lynne Cunningham

I had the pleasure of seeing my abstract floral on the cover of a local magazine - again!  It's pretty wonderful to see your work in print.  The editor came by my studio last month for a good visit ~ I'm happy to have met her in person and chat after trading emails.  With all my other stuff going on, I nearly forgot to post this coverpiece . . .it's still October so please enjoy this one in warm colors, with the feeling of fall and definitely an abstract garden / abstract floral!

The original painting is acrylic, acrylic inks, oil and oil pastel on canvas, 24" x 30".  I may have posted a similar version earlier; I re-worked this painting in May ~ and I think it's improved in this version.

I can't resist gardens and florals.  This view of the garden, "Vue Sur le Jardin" could be your special image or view of an iris garden in fog or at dusk with the colors of the garden glowing in an atmospheric setting.  Abstracts, impressionism, and expressive paintings invite you to complete the story!

 I hope you enjoy this floral abstract.  It's on stretched canvas with gallery wrapped sides, ready to hang or fit into a standard sized frame.  It's shipped, protected with double-box packaging.

"Floral Garden Splash I" Original abstract floral watercolor painting by Janice Trane Jones

This painting is the first in a series of original watercolors depicting the garden in full color and looking wild and crazy. I wanted the feel of wind, vibrant color and beauty all in one painting. These paintings are all painted on 300 lb cold pressed paper and high grade pigments. The painting measures 11 x 14 without a frame but the purchase includes a white 16 x 20 mat making this ready for a frame upon arrival. I flatten out all my watercolors and put them in their mats unless requested otherwise. The price is $169 which includes shipping and tax in the US.
To purchase or view this or other paintings go to www.janicetranejones.com or contact me at janicetranejones@aol.com.

"Marcher dans le Jardin", oil painting by Lynne Cunningham

"Marcher dans le Jardin", 16" x 20"
oil on canvas
completed March 27, 2013

update 6/17/13:  this painting is on reserve;
use contact email below for availability

This painting was just signed and completed!  I have a lot of paintings with the idea of 'path' or 'walk', so today, I'm titling my painting  in French.  I don't speak it, but it's a nice variation for the title. A visitor to a gallery where I show my work told the gallery owner that I have an 'abstract impressionist' style.  That was an interesting and well-phrased comment - I agree with that description!

The photo (above) was taken in early morning sunlight to show the texture; the alternate image below shows the painting without the texture highlighted.
