Carol Nelson workshop in Granbury, TX

Here's a FEW examples of the wonderful work produced by the fabulous group at my workshop in Granbury Texas, last week.  To see more of their work, I uploaded 36 photos on my facebook page.

I have barely unpacked from Texas before I have to get lots of paintings framed and ready to go for the SUMMER ART MARKET this coming weekend in Denver.

This is my favorite outdoor show every year.  Find me in booth 169, on Grant St, just north of 3rd.

Midas Touch

I love everything about this dynamic painting.  If you've been following my work at all, you know how fond I am of this color palette.  It has other things I love too such as metal leaf and texture.

In this extreme close up, you can see the blue and turquoise notes that are not very evident in the above photos.  I just LOVE adding those little complimentary touches toward the end of a painting.

For more information about this painting, click here to go to my website.

Red Poppy Floral Warmup ~ by Nancy Standlee

Red Poppy #4
5 1/2 x 7 1/2 acrylic on watercolor paper

This floral was painted as a practice warm-up before the actual painting begins. I learned this technique in a Robert Burridge workshop and he completes multiple paint sketches of the same subject usually 3 to 6. It's teaching yourself about composition and color and "how to paint".
