"Of course you don't die. Nobody dies. Death doesn't exist.
You only reach a new level of vision, a new realm of consciousness, a new unknown world." - Henry Miller I was visiting Denver, and while walking down an alleyway, I saw her beautiful face on a deteriorating old poster.
The solemn and longing look in her eyes drew me in and I snapped a photo.
It is very comforting to me to believe that our loved ones who have passed are watching over us. Painted with acrylic, oil pastel, ink stick and copies of my b&w photos.

Animals large and small went into hiding when they heard the unfamiliar sounds of our footsteps and voices. They have short memories. If we sit silently and motionless for a few minutes they will start scurrying around, going about business as usual.
Too Hot To Handle is an oil painting done in the palette knife technique. You can almost feel the extreme heat of the day radiating from the sun to the ground and rising in a fog. Done with a very limited palette.
Framed in a black wood floater frame.
I created this painting as an intuitive exercise. I would make a line and then respond to the marks. Add some paint and react to the emotion of the color. The most important part was knowing when to stop. 10"x10"x1.5" Mixed Media on Panel/Available $350 Click HERE for purchase info. Click HERE to learn about my upcoming WORKSHOPS!!

The sky lights up in the vibrant colors for which alcohol inks are known. The purples could be a western horizon and the foreground appears to look like one of the craters found in the desert. "Desert Crater" began as an abstract but then took on the characteristics of a landscape or other images depending on what the viewer sees.
This is another in the Metamorphosis series, characterized by the warm colors accented by deep green, copper, and stamping. This is a large painting, 72" tall. It has a deep box of 2.5" . The sides are very well finished, and no frame is needed. The Entity has the light of the Creator touching the shoulder, and the light of the Creator also enters in the descending golden squares. Energy seems to surround the Entity, flowing from the spiral at top right. Confianza means confidence in Spanish.

"I personally will never forget that people are more important than buildings." - Harvey Milk The graffiti in this painting resides on the building across the alley from where I live. I became curious seeing it daily.
What does it mean? Who painted it? Why did the artist decide to climb down the fire escape from the roof to paint it?
I took a photo of it as I usually do with things that interest me. I knew it would become part of a future painting. Then an incredible thing happened!
While my painting was on display at an art festival, I noticed two young men spending a lot of time studying it.
Of course, I needed to find out what it was that caught their attention.
As I approached, one of them turned to me and asked, "Do you know what this is?"
I replied, "It's graffiti on the building across from my condo."
He said, "No, it is much more than that. It was painted by a graffiti artist as a memorial for another graffiti artist
who passed away in a motorcycle accident." Wow, all the questions I had about the graffiti were answered!!
Now when I look out my window and see that beautiful writing, I can feel the admiration and love from one artist to another. Painted with acrylic, oil pastel, ink pencil and copies of my b&w photos.

Gesso was applied heavily and randomly on the canvas before painting to add texture and interest. Three colors of paint were used, along with alcohol sprayed and paint moved to give a "ghostly" appearance.
A bright, happy painting, with fantasy flowers in a vase that appears etched, sitting on a "table" stamped with my hand made stamps. The descending squares are foiled, and the spiral is done in gold paint. The design on the outside edges is raised and foiled with an 18K gold foil pen. The sides are painted with metallic gold paint tinted with green to complete the frame effect.
