"Althea" - contemporary great horned owl painting by Kate Dardine

This is painting #42 of my Painting a Day project. It is a 12x12" oil on stretched canvas - a bit larger than my usual daily paintings. I am donating "Althea" to a fundraiser for "Memories in the Making", an art therapy program for Alzheimer's patients. I was "paired" with a patient who had painted a lovely silhouette of an owl - you can read about the program on my Facebook fan page (and become a fan, too, if you'd like!) or you can read about the program on my blog (and subscribe too, if you'd like!)

"Red-Winged Blackbird: This Moment to be Free" by Kate Dardine

Painting # 19 of my Painting a Day Project. 5x7 oil on stretched canvas. This is a painting that had a mind of its own. I started out with one concept...a rather realistic bird sitting on the ground, and ended up here. $55 ready to frame. Click here for purchase info.

Dark Side of the Moon by Kate Dardine

"Dark Side of the Moon", oil on gallery wrapped canvas, 36x36. In this painting I explore the concept of inner journey, and the mystery that surrounds every foray into the unknown. "The voyage of discovery lies not in finding new landscapes, but in having new eyes." - Marcel Proust
