SO CURIOUS!! What is the first object you see in this painting? I ask because I’ve received a variety of responses from viewers…”Love the pink piano”, “open windows always feel good to see” and “I have a round orange table just like the one with the piano…” So, why not the large blue chair? Obviously size wise it’s large and in a quiet space - but still isn’t the main focus. Interesting… I enjoy painting vignettes, especially with open windows! Then the ability to include other things that interest me is such a plus. Hope you are enjoying a “fresh air” kind of day wherever you might be! Always thank you for viewing my paintings! Nancy

Blue Vase, “WONKY KIND’A DAY” by Texas Contemporary Artist Jill Haglund

 

I found this vase set on wayfair.com and was immediately taken by them. I looked at them more then several times over a month-long period and finally decided if I didn't purchase them -they might disappear never to be seen again. One day I bit the bullet and bought them, they arrived super quickly and when I opened the box they were SO MUCH better then I even imagined! I immediately painted them with roses...See “Double Date”, then I realized I just wanted to paint them in WONKY ways! So I started the Wonky Series- quirky little paintings of this lovely set of vases painted in a multitude of color palettes and settings. So... with that said "Meet the Wonkies" is just beginning!

STILL BLUE VASE Judi Goolsby Santa Fe, NM

Oil on Canvas 16" x 20" I put a single clematis in a blue vase of flowers on a piece of Guatemalan cloth and tried to study the color relationships. I'm pretty new at this and this is my first still life. I'm not sure it's finished.
