Mixed Media Art, Organic Abstract, Contemporary Art, “Metanoia” by Texas Contemporary Artist Sharon Whisnand

 

The title of this painting means "how did I get there from here". As an artist I don't always have a plan when beginning a painting, but at some point the painting "talks" to me. An acrylic pour was the base of the painting, which created cells. Texture was added with acrylic gel to create raised areas, paper and fabric were embedded, along with painted tyvak paper. Resin drips were painted to look like rocks
