Like many thrifty artists, I had decided to paint over an old blue painting. I wanted to use some bright colors like orange, sand, etc, but the blue decided to stay. So the painting and I compromised. We have the blue of the ocean and the sky and the sand of the land. I used hand-dyed papers I had made years ago and some newer papers I printed.
