"Ocean Bits"  48" x 48"

A bit of a jigsaw puzzle made up of colors and movement of

the ocean, makes for a combination of shapes and textures of water.

This is an original abstract acrylic painting with texture medium

on canvas.  The canvas is 1.5" deep and painted black on the

sides for a finished look that does not need framing.  It's wired

and ready to hang.  The surface is coated with a UV varnish

to protect the color.

Ocean waves and sandy beaches - Lidija Ivanek SiLa

What began as a quick sketch, it ended up as a finished painting in watercolour and pen.

Near the Clonakilty, Co. Cork, Ireland, there are three beaches and they were inspiration for my painting.

Every once in a while I have to try something abstract.  This one is all about texture and the red under painting.

I mixed sand from the beach into the gesso.

It's always fun to experiment, especially when I start to take my painting a little too seriously.
