Okay, I'll admit it, I have never seen this scene!  I have quite the imagination, huh?  I can just envision a volcanic exploding over a mountain range, although it's a scary thought, I'll admit.  Always having fun with the paints.

"Funnel Cloud at Sunset" by Karla Nolan, original watercolor painting




 I'm certain that you've heard of artistic license -- this time I took the liberty of applying it!  I made up this scene and had a blast doing so, although I wouldn't wish for a funnel cloud to appear in the sky at this time of day or any other!  The color and the water did what they wanted and I went along with them (this time!).  Hope you enjoy the view!

"Sunset Gold" by Karla Nolan, original watercolor painting



Ah, more watercolor experimentation with the skies, the sunsets in particular.  Don't all sunsets have a bit of magic in them?  They shift so quickly, sometimes they are breathtaking, literally!  November happens to be my favorite month to observe them, just before starting dinner, closing out another day.  (The lower picture is a close up view.)
