Day Three Progression Horse Painting

4 x 6 feet Oil on Canvas. SOLD

There truly is excitement for me as an artist at this point in the painting.  You have three layers beginning to work together. You are constantly reminded of life and the weave of experiences in our every day existence.

On the Third Day of Christmas...

The Four by Six Foot Canvas with Blue surface paint.

The image.

My sketch as I made layout decisions on paint movement.

Day Two Progression

4 x 6 Feet Oil on Canvas. SOLD

Today was a light day of just wiping and coating the canvas with blue paint over the words. I do not want to cover the words yet, but want them to bleed through this layer.  You can see the photo I am working from and my sketch to decide on paint movement... Sometimes it works, and sometimes it does not! Stay tuned tomorrow.

On the Second Day of Christmas

Two Turtle Doves
The Old and New Testaments, which together bear witness to God's self-revelation in history and the creation of a people to tell the Story of God to the world.

Whatever You Do... Day One New Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Progress on first day.

4 ft by 6 ft  Oil on Canvas. SOLD

While it is not the new year yet... I am back in the studio at work.

As I began this painting, I painted in the words of favorite Bible verses and the Lord's Prayer. It is always inspiring to me to know what verses people are 'attached' to in their lives.  This would be their inspiration verses, or confirmation verses, or something they cling to  in all time.

Watch for paint tomorrow in this progression Horse painting.

Painting in Progress Ponies on the Ridge Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Just a quick update note... There are so many wonderful people in the drawings each day for the 12 Days of Christmas... I am going to offer a few more drawings coming soon. I will keep your names in the drawing if you were not a winner, so watch for some new pieces available for you to win.

Ponies on the Ridge

24 x 36 inches Mixed Media on Canvas.

I started this painting several weeks ago and shared two images in progress. I am JUST now getting back to it and this would be the next image as I blocked in the horses with charcoal. Again if this does not work the painting evolves into something else. That is how man survives, if something isn't working, you have to evolve to live another day.

When you give birth to a child, you never know what lies ahead for them in their lives. You raise them up right and true and in His word. Sometimes you forget they are an individual person and they will evolve and live life as they want to live it. You pray what you have taught them will guide them in their life.

He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.” Luke 1:32-33

Progress of Summer Nude 1 2013, Palette Knife Nude Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013

28 x 56 inches Oil on Canvas. SOLD

Again the beginning shots of the canvas as I progress through the painting. This one will be a nude.  But I cannot figure out why I stupidly put a circle in the middle of the composition as that is a huge no no.  Must be the heartbeat of the painting...the oncoming nude.  More tomorrow.

Daily Painters Blog - A Painting in Progress - Mandy on the Staircase Abstract Futurism Oil Painting - A Painting a Day by Northern California Artist Mark Webster

I have started to work on the top of the figure while I wait for the stairs in the background to dry. Normally I would start from the top and work my way down, but in this case I wanted to work with a dry background so on the figure I'm working from the center out. I'm trying to gain a greater contrast between the figure and the background than in my previous works. We'll have to wait and see how it turns out.
