abstract and impressionistic oil of 4 Texas or Florida Sabal Palms

 

This is a painting where I painted 4 Texas and Florida Sabal palms in 4”x9” square utilizing their complementary colors. It didn’t have the texture of Phoenix Date Palms but the colors were dynamic and it was perfect for the client who bought it. They just built a beach home near port Lavaca and it was one of her first art works she will have. I also got the contract on doing the landscaping which should be quite lucrative since I have to drive everything there from Houston. The logistical element is challenging since I have to use salt tolerant plants but I have everything lined up.

 I’m a strong believer in Karma and a few weeks ago I gave a painting away as a gift and I think those things always come back to you. It’s also an intrinsic benefit that your artwork is inside and your landscape design work is outside. Wish me luck friends!
