"Live Again"

On January 30th, I lost my 28 year old niece unexpectedly. It hit my family and her parents very badly, and I as well. I live a distance away so my visits have been quite limited. Last time I saw her was at Christmas 2012. I cannot wrap my mind around that I will never see her again, get hugs, hear her laughter, see her beautiful eyes and rosy cheeks. I spent days in tearful grief, and as I've come to do, was moved to put my feelings on canvas. I had started this painting already but it soon morphed into the message I have for her- "Live Again". I know it can't come true physically, but her memory will never die. This is for you Jessica. Love you, Aunt Jonelle

"Don't Forget Me"

There are so many things that happen in the world that sometimes I just want to run away and hide, and wonder "Where is God? Why is this allowed to happen?" And I wonder when times get rough- "Lord, have you forgotten me?" Actually, it's the other way around, I've forgotten to remember the Lord, that he is ever present, to place my trust that what will be, will be. This 24"x18"x1.5 gallery wrap acrylic painting expresses the worry, running away, all the while praying to be remembered, not forgotten using the lovely but delicate like us forget-me-not flower. I feel this one very powerfully and intimately. Do you?

"Iris Upon a Star"

This one was created with someone special in mind that I'm 
close to who loves irises, paso's, purple and green. This lovely paso fino mare is thrilled to be in the midst of these gorgeous multi-colored purple and yellow irises. This is another that brings to mind a snippet of my past. As a young mid teen I wished upon a star hoping for love to find me, and that time, my wish came true. Can you see the star in this painting? What wishes do you have that could come true if you really believe? Titled "Iris Upon a Star", this acrylic has been painted on an 18"x24"x1.5" gallery wrap canvas. Sold.

"Seeking the Son" 

Here's #4 in my horses and flowers series. This has so many messages given the title- "Seeking the Son". Taken literally in my view, I love the warm weather and longer days. I love the feeling of warmth from the sun on my face and skin. (I do wear sunscreen and try to shade my face for the most part to be safe.) Taken symbolically- the sunflower, a huge, bright, seed nourishing flower that resembles our sun not only in color and size celestially with it's light that transforms the earth into a living orb, but in size relative to other flower species. I also seek the light of the sun spiritually, so play on the spelling and you get Son, the Son of God. I pray for enlightenment, to understand myself and the world around me better, that the muddy colors of distress, confusion and despair clarify and become rich and saturated with peace and happiness. As you can see, the horse is rising upwards towards this ideal, the utopia, the bearer of light. What does this painting mean to you, what does it say to you- do you feel it's message in your soul? "It's a Girl!"

Here is the mate to the bluebonnet colt painting "It's a Boy!", this one captures the innocence of a darling, sweet golden palomino filly curiously investigating the pink daisies and bright red poppies in her new Springtime world. Painted with acrylic on a 30"x 30" x 1.5" gallery wrap canvas. Named simply "It's a Girl!".

"It's a Boy!" 

Traditionally blue is the color to announce the birth of a boy. These Texas Bluebonnets are a perfect way to express the birth of a fine colt. Sunny daisies express the happiness of the event. He's resting quietly soaking up the warm Spring sunshine. A beautiful acrylic on a 24"x24"x1.5" gallery wrap. I've named this one simply "It's a Boy!"
