Expressionistic Abstract Painting "Tetrad" with Red by Contemporary Abstract Painter Elizabeth Chapman

Tetrad

Acrylic on 14"W x 18"H heavy paper

Ready to frame

Available $250

Worked on this one simultaneously while painting another recent painting "Innermost".  Each new painting is a challenge in itself.  They say that artist's are people who are easily bored. True. That's why we have a need to be making things. Creating an abstract painting keeps me engaged and focused on the piece until it is completed.  How do I know it is finished? It's that aha moment, this is good or wow!... which for some reason tends to occur just as you thought it would not. This is where perseverance pays off. With some paintings this moment will come together rather quickly, whereas others may take a time of being contemplated over.

"Dist In Metal PKY" Contemporary Expressionist Painting by Kimberly Conrad

© Victoria Franklin Designs, INC
Distraction In Metal-PKY. Original abstract expressionistic painting on 8x10 140 lb watercolor paper. So, I have been working for weeks on the abstracted landscapes....and it's been fun, but I had to take a break, and have a Pollock moment, which is where my head is naturally....action painting in somewhat of a frenzied state....not over thinking the composition, just moving to the tune of my emotions. This painting has a companion piece, which I will post tomorrow. It will fit a ready made 8x10 frame, or may be matted and framed to a larger size. It is signed and dated on the back, may be signed on the front prior to shipping at buyer's request. To view larger works of this kind, visit www.kimberlyconradfineart.com

"Seasons Change" by Elizabeth Chapman

Seasons Change

Abstract Expressionist Palette Knife Painting

Acrylic on 40" x 30" gallery canvas

This painting was inspired by the feeling of the changing of the season from summer into fall. The transitioning of colors between the cool of summer and warm of fall, the change in light and the texture of the seasons. For purchasing information contact me at: elizabethchapman@artlover.com

"Sword dance" SOLD Contemporary Expressionist Painting by Kimberly Conrad

© Victoria Franklin Designs, INC.
Sword Dance SOLD Abstract expressionist painting. This was the first of my paintings to sell at Artful Sol Gallery in Vail, CO. I named this piece "Sword Dance", because I immediately saw the silhouette of horseman with a big hat wielding a sword (top center, black) No matter how hard I looked to see something else....my eye was immediately drawn back to this image. This painting is SOLD, but commissions are welcome. Contact Kimberly at kkconrad2@aol.com To view more paintings of this kind, please visit www.kimberlyconradfineart.com

"Moving Metals- beyond the Horizon" Contemporary Expressionist Painting by Kimberly Conrad

Moving Metals/ Beyond The Horizon
Original expressionist painting on 12x12x2 gallery wrapped canvas. This is the third piece in the Horizon series, the second piece was posted yesterday. The two would be beautiful exhibited together, but each piece can certainly stand on it's own. The pattern continues around the sides for a beautiful finish. Signed in the side to allow collector choices in exhibiting. For purchase inquiries, contact Kimberly at kkconrad2@aol.com

"Moving Metals-Horizon II" Contemporary Expressionist Painting by Kimberly Conrad

Moving Metals/ Horizon II. Original expressionist painting on 12x12x2 gallery wrapped canvas. The paint flow continues around the side for a beautiful finish, as shown in the upper photo. This painting is one of three in an altered "moving metals" palette. I darkened the silver, brightened the copper, and gave the bronze more of a soft chocolate tone. I am so pleased with the soft palette, and feel the colors work beautifully together. I usually paint in very bold color, but this palette really speaks to me. Watch for the other two pieces, I will post them soon. For purchase inquiries, contact Kimberly at kkconrad2@aol.com

"Moving Metals-Electric Blue" Contemporary Expressionist Painting by Kimberly Conrad

Moving Metals/ Electric Blue
Abstract painting on 30x24x2 gallery wrapped canvas. I ADORE this piece...it was so exciting to watch it evolve. It has a "friend", which I will post tomorrow. There's a little glare in the photo (top left brown). I just can't seem to get around that when using these metallic colors. The pattern continues around the sides for a beautiful finish. May be exhibited vertically or horizontally...you choose. Signed on the side to allow collector choices in exhibiting. Blade Works # 43. Diptych. Two palette knife oil expressionist paintings on 11x14 140 lb watercolor paper. Each will fit a ready made 11x14 frame, or may be grouped/matted together in a larger frame. May be exhibited vertically or horizontally....you choose. Each piece is signed and dated on the back, may be signed on the front prior to shipping at buyer's request. I broke a "rule" in this piece, in that there is not a balance of warm and cool colors...I guess I was feeling a bit "firey" today!!! Metallics GCY. Abstract painting on two 6x12x2 gallery wrapped canvases. Paint flow continues around the sides for a beautiful finish, as shown in upper photo. When I put two pieces of the same palette together, I like for one to be very busy, and the other not so much. These pieces both ended up being busy, but I am happy with the movement. Signed on the side to allow collector choices in exhibiting.

"Blade Works # 40" Contemporary Expressionist Painting by Kimberly Conrad

Blade Works # 40. Palette knife oil on 140 lb 11x14 watercolor paper. Many layers of buttery oil paint applied, scraped, applied again, etc. Signed and dated on the back, may be signed on the front prior to shipping at buyers request. May be exhibited vertically or horizontally. This is a big painting day, I am "pouring" for the Moving Metals series, and oil painting between layers. I had to come up for air, as there is big mixture of fumes down in the studio ....and no breeze coming through the window!!
