Perfect Day by Kay Wyne

Perfect Day
48" x 72" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Palette Knife Painting
I took a break from on the collaborative commission that Sharon and I have been working on for the past three weeks and put this canvas on my easel.  When I needed a break from the long hours of that job, I worked on this painting.  I wanted to paint something loose and colorful, fun and happy.  I used two different palette knives on this painting...so there is plenty of paint built up on the canvas.  Blending colors, I was mindful that it doesn't take much mixing to create MUD.  I also got brave and put my least favorite color in....green.  I usually back away from greens of any shade, but cad green was a good choice, especially when it bounces off the cad reds and oranges.  Thanks for looking at this painting.  Contact me if you have any questions about this painting....kay@kwyne.com.

Abstract #1081 by Kay Wyne

Abstract #1081
Original Contemporary Oil Painting
10" x 8" on Raymar Panel
This abstract aspen painting is the first of a series of smaller paintings. It was a challenge for me because I love using large brushes and big palette knives when I paint. I used a #8 Monarch and a # 24 knife on a small cotton panel. A real change-up for me. This painting will be framed once it is dry. Thanks for viewing...Kay at 214-532-0325 or kay@kwyne.com.

Quiet Times by Kay Wyne

Quiet Times
48" x 72" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
This painting is a a complete detour from most of the aspen paintings that I do. The color palette is soft and muted. I stayed away from the bold and vibrant color palette that I normally paint with. I wanted the viewer to be drawn into the painting....Thanks for viewing. Quiet Times is hanging at the gallery in Santa Fe. Please contact me if you are interested in this contemporary palette knife painting. Kay at 214-532-0325 or kay@kwyne.com.
