Blue Skies Ahead by Kay Wyne

Blue Skies Above

24" x 26" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas

Contemporary Wildflower Landscape

I am getting ready to send this painting to a gallery now that is dry.  Loose, bold brush strokes made this painting so much fun to work on.  How many times have you been on a trip and the road ahead is long and narrow and disappears into the horizon?  This road wanders back into the wide-open landscape.  Contact Kay if you have any questions or comments on this painting.  Thanks for looking at this blog....Kay

Colors Of My World by Kay Wyne

Colors Of My World

8" x 16" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas

Contemporary Palette Knife Painting

This small landscape painting is colorful and has a dreamy look to it.  I think that the viewer can put his or her imagination to work when looking at this one.  The color palette is beautiful...with so many colors and the cad reds and oranges bounce off the greens and turqoise.  This painting does not require a frame since it is on a gallery wrap canvas.  Contact Kay for more information on this colorful little painting...thanks for looking.  Kay

Wildflowers by Kay Wyne

Wildflowers

14" x 14" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas

Layers of color, plenty of paint, and texture cover this canvas.  This field is covered in wildflowers of magenta, reds, indian yellow and orange.  I just completed this painting, and it is drying on my easel.  Contact ME for more information on this painting or the series of wildflower landscapes that I am currently working on.  Thanks for viewing!  Kay

Untitled Wildflower Landscape by Kay Wyne

Untitled

8" x 16" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas

Contemporary Palette Knife Painting

I am currently working on a new series of landscape paintings...it is a good time to explore and experiment with my paints.  Now I am in the studio for a long stretch of time, all day long with few interruptions.  I have 16 paintings started, all at different stages.  Most are landscapes---and one cow.  The cow is a challenge.

This small wildflower landscape is completed.  The colors in the wildflowers are bouncing off of each other.  I must say that I did borrowed some paint from Sharon in the studio since she had piles of paint mixed up.  Huge piles of beautiful paint...so much paint that the dogs got into the paint today!  Thanks for looking at this blog and the art posted here.  Contact Kay for more information.  This painting does not require a frame since it is on a thick gallery wrap canvas.  KMW

Obscurity by Kay Wyne

Obscurity
8" x 16" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Palette Knife Painting

Uncertainty and obscurity comes to my mind when I look at this small abstract painting.  I was working towards a landscape with my palette knife and paints.  I worked and moved the paint across the canvas.  I see a nocturnal scene with earthy colors.  This painting has layers of color, and abstract shapes to pull the eye into the painting.  This is on a thick gallery wrap canvas, and the sides are painted, so a frame is optional.  Contact Kay for more info on this painting or the art posted here.  Thank you for viewing....Kay

Are We There Yet? by Kay Wyne

Are We There Yet?

24" x 36" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas

Contemporary Landscape Painting

This painting was painted with thick oils and one big brush...a #12 Filbert.  My inspiration was a photograph taken while riding in a car in New Mexico.  How many times have we been riding in a car and said, "Are we there yet?"  I mixed lots of colors and really enjoyed painting this one.  The road disappears into the vast landscape.  The big sky is colorful and the clouds are moving across the canvas.  I don't know why I didn't use any medium, but I didn't...so it will take months for this one to dry. John and I are off to Ft. Worth today to the Stock Show...so I am taking the day off from the studio.  Contact ME for more info on this painting.  Thanks for viewing...Kay
