Monday Musings with American Painter, September McGee

Cafe Series - Lunch at the White House - Terri

Starting off this holiday week with a beautiful new painting of a wonderful and special woman who has blessed my life with her friendship, giving spirit and loving heart!

This is an oil on museum board from a brand new series of paintings from Lunch at the White House! The owner of the White House in Anaheim, CA was kind enough to allow us to do a photo session at his fabulous restaurant and I am very excited about this series.

With gratitude being the order of the day on this Thanksgiving week, I am ever so grateful for my family and friends, for the generosity of so many people who help me with my art and for the gift of creativity.
I am truly blessed!

Wishing you the best day of your life - today and always!

"Single Pear" by A.B. Deneweth

I had such a good time yesterday panting an abstract landscape with the painting knife, I thought I'd do a quick still life study this morning. This is a pear sitting on a antique studio chair that my grandmother owned.

The chair itself has been painted about 20 times and it's currently bright turquoise, so it makes an interesting background. I also started with a warm red tinted canvas to complement the yellow green pear. Please visit My Daily Painting Blog for purchase info or info about my oil painting classes.

Sweet Mexico by A.B.Deneweth

Inspired by the wonderful, luscious dessert paintings of Wayne Thiebaud, this is an abstract oil painting of some delicious fresh pastries from a local panadeira. I was particularly entranced by the one with the bright pink icing. And yes it's always nice to have an edible still life when you're done painting.
