"Sienna Siesta" by A.B.Deneweth

This is a quick oil painting abstract study on linen. My primary goal with was to keep the overall feeling of the painting abstract, but still present a clear sense of the figure. That balancing act can be a challenge, but also very rewarding.

I also wanted to capture the very intense late afternoon light pouring in from around the shades while using a relatively simple, yet complementary color palette of siennas and blues.
