"Adobe Gate" by A.B. Deneweth

I love painting the colors and abstract textures of New Mexico. Here the old fence and the smooth adobe contrast caught my eye. This is a transparent watercolor "pour" painting where the typically primary colors are added in layers as other layers are masked or blocked out.

It's one of my favorite watercolor techniques. For more information about this technique check out Jean Grastorf's book: Pouring Light. You can also see a short video demo of her watercolor pouring here.
