The Painting: Playing off complimentary colors of blue and orange, the strength of this painting is remarkable in person. With my traditionally heavy oils without Impasto, the texture feel of the horse makes him come alive.

ReplyDeleteI'm looking for an artist and I was hoping that you might help me find her. She does oil, acrylic, and watercolor. I would describe her art as modern, contemporary, and abstract (somewhat similar to this painting). The vast majority of her art consists of a single person ("mug shot"). She uses bright bold colors, but not a lot of detail - very expressionist. She is not famous, as far as I know. She usually titles her paintings with the name of the person (i.e. Natalie - I'm just picking a random name for the example). I spoke with her 1 - 2 years ago about her website. At the time (probably still) it had a black background with a purple cityscape (little yellow windows) at the top. She used bright orange, pink, and green (other colors too) as the titles of sections. I would guess her age to be between 30 and 50, but she is probably in her thirty's.
I know that I'm giving a lot of vague info, but this is all I have to go by. Hope this rings a bell. If you have any ideas, or just want to take a guess, then please email me. My email is art@prositetonight.com
