There is a companion painting to this piece also on the website titled Orange Hills.
I will post it another day but it is easily seen on the home page of my website:  http://janetbludau.fineartstudioonline.com/
I currently have them both hanging in the office that my husband and I share.  One over my desk and one over his.   We have matching white desks with orange and white fabric on our chairs.  I love the look.  One of the side benefits of being a self employed artist is that your work can decorate your own home while you are waiting for it to sell!  It is also the safest way to store paintings!

These two paintings were started with a red undercoat so that you see it peaking out in several places.
I used a technique called scumbling to blend the colors together in places.  The best way to describe this is that I scrubbed the paint after it had dried a bit,  back and forth and into the next color.  With acrylics you have to work fast as the paint dries quickly.    I have found scumbling to be easier with acrylics than with the oils that are more commonly used in my paintings.
