  1. This is a beautiful collage! I am working on collage just now, having just completed two for class and I've three left to go. However, having never done them before I'm a bit lost as to how I should do them. I must make one with the underpainting showing through transparent layers similar to this work. Can you give me any advice?

  2. I learned much from Carrie Burns Brown - she has a DVD workshop. She deomonstrates creating your own colored/textured papers for collage use. I also use some patterned thai papers, painted w/c paper scraps. The lighter areas around this figure were painted with acrylic, as well as some other areas....some thinly to let the paper patterns show thru. Seemed hard to cover much of the gorgeous papers, but the result works.

  3. Thank you Melody! I just saw someone else mention Carrie Burns Brown on another blog. Funny that! I must check her out. I'd find it difficult to cover beautiful paper too, but you did a beautiful job with it. I too like to let some of the original patterns show through - it seems a waste not to. I added your website to mine. I love the work you have created there, and hope to share it with others as well as use it for my own inspiration!
