Expressionists Abstract Painting, Small Oil Painting, Daily Painting, Cross Composition in Orange, Blue and Purple, 8x8x1.5 Original Oil

This contemporary abstract painting is on a heavily textured stretched canvas.
I used a cross (one of my favorites) composition and split complementary colors of blue, purple and orange to achieve a nice glow. I painted with a knife to get even more texture and very subtle color changes.

I was always fairly mystified about the process of painting an abstract, but I am finding that it is much like any other artwork.  You must have a composition, a point of interest,  color interaction and contrast.

Water Reflections Acrylic Abstract Painting by Melody Cleary, Oregon Artist

I've not decided if this is quite finished yet. A very quick
interpretation of water reflections using the palette knife on a
12 x 16 gallery canvas.
So far, I love the colors. There's a bit of window light reflecting
on the upper right.

Sea impressionist - sea shore 1 - ARTIST DIVYA SEKAR FRANKFURT AM MAIN GERMANY

It takes a bit of prodding once a while to get one focussed on some sweet, cute things. Like, for example: the sea paintings that I did some months ago. I loved the process of painting the intricacies of the sea shore, all fraught with the sand, the sea spray and gradients of it all. I did a series of those sea impressionists, and never found the time to continue painting more on the series.

In my previous attempt of an ETSY shop, the sea paintings were hearted by many people and was opted several times in the treasuries. My mom and my husband loved these the most. Artist colleagues also liked the new textured perspective to these abstracts. Also, now my friend is seriously considering getting one for her home. Besides, the model we have at the nude painting classes also heavily doted them. So, here I am, after deciding very hard to start a new ETSY shop to cater to the audience who enjoy owning a piece of the sea, as much as I do enjoy painting them. I painted two new paintings basically dealing with sea horizon and a triangle-series of the sea horizon. I love the outcome of the new ones with the horizon defined and currently I am now heading to photograph them in the garden.

But for now, here is the Sea shore 1 painting

The waves engulfs the shore and caress my feet...

Sea shore 2:
The waves retreat back..
