KMA3032 Perception in Red I by Colorado artist Kit Hevron Mahoney (12x9, acrylic, abstract, reds, warm colors)

Another of my abstract explorations using warm, red colors. I am pleased that using a palette of reds I have rendered an intuitive image that is calm and yet exciting at the same time! 12”x 9” original acrylic on 1” cradle board $800+ $15 shipping and handling See more paintings on my blog Visit my website Daily Painters of Colorado

KMA7-1 Study in Blue by Kit Hevron Mahoney (8x8 acrylic abstract blue)

I am exploring the world of abstract and have created a series of monochromatic paintings on 1" high cradle boards. This is the first in the series and I really like the intuitive works that I am doing. They are definitely a challenge for me but very stimulating and exciting to play in a new arena. I did the series using stripes to create soothing and interesting compositions that I have done to keep the viewer engaged and entertained. 8”x 8” original oil unframed on board $65 + $10 shipping and handling See more paintings on my blog Visit my website Daily Painters of Colorado

KM3018 Arctic Cotton Grasses by Colorado artist Kit Hevron Mahoney (48x48 landscape, cotton grasses, Canada)

This is my painting done for the "Grab Bag" show at Brushstrokes Fine Art Gallery here in Denver. We each put an object into a bag that was given to another artist at our studio. I got 3 cotton balls to interpret on canvas. After searching for images of cotton I came across an amazing photo of Arctic Cotton grasses in the Nunavut Canada Wilderness by photographer Tim Hauf who kindly gave me permission to use his amazing photograph. After researching, I found that these flowering plants grow throughout the arctic, subarctic and temperate portions of the Northern Hemisphere in acid bog habitats. Who would have thought that 3 cotton balls would lead to discovering new plants!!!! Love new adventures! 48”x 48" original oil gallery wrap unframed $6000 + $60 shipping and handling See more paintings on my blog Visit my website Daily Painters of Colorado See more paintings on my blog Visit my website Daily Painters of Colorado
