Textured Seascape, Coastal Decor, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, Palette Knife Painting, 9x12" Oil

This painting is the direct result of many, many, walks on the beach, last winter.

Purchase here

A possible framing choice.

How to capture the excitement of a breaking wave?    I painted with a palette knife and could not capture the actual colors, but I think I came very close.

Floral Still Life Painting, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, "Pink Glory", 6x8" Oil on Panel

I have been doing a few palette knife paintings, recently.

Purchase Here
I think, I could be a much better artist, if I were to limit my techniques and subject matter to one type, but I also think that would be rather boring!

Variety of the spice of life......right?

I am fortunate and do not have to financially support myself, with my art, so I can indulge myself, in this way.  Others are not.  Still others do not have the desire to jump around, but are focused totally on one technique or subject.

Is there a right or wrong?

Thanks for viewing my art today.

Palette Knife Paintings and Technique

The most enjoyable experiences, I get out of painting, almost always involves a palette knife.  I may start out with a brush in hand, but eventually the knife takes over.

This was my first experience.  I started on a canvas with a half finished painting.  One I had lost interest in ever finishing.

If you are interested in painting with a palette knife, you might want to check out this tutorial.  I found it to be very helpful.

Abstract Sea Painting, Palette Knife Painting, Small Oil Painting, Daily Painting, 8x16x.75" Oil, SOLD

We are happy to be back in Florida, and I wanted to mark the occasion with a new abstract.

SOLD
I really enjoyed creating this art.  Sometimes it is nice to just get in the zone, no particular plan, and let the subconscious take over.

I love playing with paint and these represent some of my favorite colors.  I didn't plan to do a seascape, but it feels like one, especially of the tropical waters in the Caribbean Islands.

The last few months have been hectic for me.  This is just what I needed to calm me down.

Have a great day and thanks for reading my blog.

A little seascape painting and memories of a wonderful trip, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, Palette Knife Painting

Fresh off a trip to the Florida Keys, I returned inspired by the gorgeous water colors. I started a new series I call "Coral Reef". This is the first piece of the series entitled "Wakes".
purchase here

I was captivated with the colors of the sea as we rode out to the coral reef.

The boat wake followed us out seven miles from shore.

It was my first trip to the keys in many years, and a had forgotten the lure of the tropical beauty.

Thanks for viewing my blog today

He Brought Me Roses, Contemporary Rose Palette Knife Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013

He Brought Me Roses
18 x 24 inches Oil on Canvas.

WOW... it was fun getting to paint. I decided to warm up with my knife and did a floral, which I have not done in quite awhile. I decided this because one of my collectors that bought two horse paintings last month loves my flowers the best and wondered why I was not painting them...
This is a huge close up...(click it)  so you have a textured feel of the canvas.
Contact me if you are interested in purchasing this painting.

Email here.

Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.  Psalm 62:8
