Dreams, Contemporary Abstract Landscape by Amy Whitehouse

24" x 30" Acrylic, $800

I love the ethereal, dream-like quality of this abstract landscape.
Inspired by Odilon Redon, I hope I've captured a soothing palette and overall image.

Prelude - Mixed Media Abstract Contemporary Painting by Texas Artist Filomena Booth

Prelude
24"x24"x.75"
Mixed-media on canvas

Sometimes it's just nice to let loose and let the painting decide which way to go.  I searched around for all sorts of materials and mediums to pour, scratch, glaze, etc. on to the canvas.  Transparent fluid colors were poured on to the already textured canvas.  Heavy gel medium, glass bead texture gel and crackle paste all added to the interesting ways that they interacted with the fluid paint.  Accents of metallic gold and iridescent paints created a jewel-like effect.
