Fishing Boat Painting "Sunrise at the Harbor" by Colorado Artist Carol Hein

Several years ago my daughter was interviewing with a large ad agency in Boston.
We both got up early to take a walk around the harbor before she went off for the interview.
I loved the play of light on the large boat in the foreground and finally decided to paint the image.

Boston Harbor Boats  - 8 by 10 inch original oil painting by Colorado artist Carol Hein.

This was painted in Kevin Weckbach's class a few weeks ago.  The visual approach is light and shadow.  It is one of the paintings of mine he critiqued and one of four selected as studies that I can paint on a 24 x 30 canvas the last three weeks of class.
