Modern Abstract Daily Painting by Kimberly Conrad

Abstract painting on 18x18x1 1/2 gallery wrapped canvas.
This is another piece in the black and white Angry River series. As I said on the last post, it's very difficult to get a proper picture of these black and whites. One light darkens the white, and another light washes out the black. The black is, in fact very deep and rich, and the white has a beautiful shimmer, as it is a metallic paint. "Raging" Contemporary Abstract by Kimberly Conrad

18x18x1 1/2 gallery wrapped canvas. The paint flow continues around the sides for a beautiful finish. This piece was painted to accompany "Brewing" which I posted yesterday. Together they tell a story. In Brewing, there was beautiful calm water, with a storm beginning to brew around it. In Raging, the storm is in full force...violent. This painting currently hangs at Artful Sol Gallery in Vail, Colorado. For purchase inquiries, contact Kimberly at kkconrad2@aol.com To view more works of this kind, visit my WEBSITE

"Brewing" Modern Abstract by Kimberly Conrad

Today's piece is done on 18x18x1 1/2 gallery wrapped canvas. The pattern continue around the side it is ready to hang. Signed on the side to allow collector choices in exhibiting.
Signed and dated on the back. When I completed this piece, I saw calm blue water, with a storm beginning to rage around it. When I did a T. V. interview in Vail, they used this piece, and the host saw mountains, and a clean ski path. I say it often, but what I so love about this kind of abstract work, is that everyone sees something different, based on their personality, environment, even the "mood" of their day. This was an exciting piece for me, as was "Raging", which followed it. I will post it tomorrow. Be sure to take a peek, as they certainly tell a story together:) To purchase this painting, contact Kimberly at kkconrad2@aol.com To see more works of this kind, please visit

COLORADO ABSTRACT DAILY PAINTER KIMBERLY CONRAD

My thoughts today are on the subject of Forgiveness. If you have ever been wrongfully accused, you know that it is both shocking, and very painful. Proverbs 15:13 says "A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance, but by sorrow of the heart, the spirit is broken" To not forgive another is one of many things that cause sorrow to the heart, so Forgiveness of another is not only commanded by our Heavenly Father, but it is a gift we give ourselves.

Moving Metals Modern Abstract by Kimberly Conrad

Mixed media on 24x24x1 1/2 gallery wrapped canvas. The paint flow continues around the sides for a beautiful finish, it is ready to hang. Signed on the side to allow collector choices in exhibiting, also signed and dated on the back. These are the colors of the original Moving Metals series. Black, Silver, Gold, Copper, and Bronze. It was later that I began to add another color to these, and depending on the color added, I dropped the bronze and copper. My students see a dinosaur head to the left. What do you see??? Distraction In Metal SYRT/ Abstract by Kimberly Conrad

Mixed media on 11x14 heavy watercolor paper. This painting will fit any ready made 11x14 frame, or may be matted and framed to a larger size. This painting does not contain oil paint, therefore glass can be placed over the top. What a busy piece...I can certainly tell what frame of mind I was in!!! Definitely not relaxed!!!! It's hard to really capture the beauty of the metallics on camera, but they are very rich and have a shimmer. In this piece, the silver and green are the metallic colors.
Signed and dated on the back to allow collector choices in exhibiting, may be hung vertically or horizontally. May be signed on the front before shipping at buyers request.

"In the orient, young bulls are tested for the fight arena in a certain manner. Each is brought into the ring, and allowed to attack a picador who pricks them with a lance. The bravery of each bull is then rated with care, according to the # of times he demonstrates his willingness to charge in spite of the STING of the blade. Henceforth, will I recognize that each day I am tested by life in a like manner. If I PERSIST, if I continue to try, if I continue to charge forward, I WILL SUCCEED."
This is sooo true in every area of our lives, but today I'm thinking about this business of ART. Most of us have felt the STING of rejection, the STING of self doubt, the STING of being excluded, the STING of a show with little or no sales, the STING of spending the entire day painting something that when completed, looks like C__P!. Bravery is to get up and do it all again the next day ANYWAY!!!! This was taken form Og Mandino's book The Greatest Salesman In The World
