Painting for Fun

I like to try new ideas in my work and stretch my artistic capabilities -- then there are time when I am just out for fun -- I came up with this idea for painting aprons when I found them at the Costco Business Warehouse -- the original idea started as Christmas presents for each of my family -- and I painted poinsettias and christmas trees and even Santa Claus -- I even did a bunch of abstract  I truly had fun painting them and giving them as gifts.

Now, I am putting together a project with children to paint the aprons and donate the money to a charity!  I just painted this one of my cat, Ollie -- to start the project!  Painting on these aprons gives me the opprtunity to paint "Just For Fun" and to go a little wild and be more expressive.  I love it.

I used fabric  paints and ornaments from Michaels.

Magical Monday Musings with Artist September McGee

This is a painting with amazing detail completed as part of my Streets of New York series.  I was out late at night roaming the New York streets looking for images I wanted to paint.
I nearly got run over by the cabbies grabbing this pic (notice the walk sign in painting)!

This is an oil on panel and is part of the Paint America exhibition online now.

I had fun with this piece.  It was a ton of work, but worth it!

Magical Monday blessings!
