This painting was inspired by a road trip through Boreas Pass, Colorado.
We were planning to do some leaf-peeping and see some of the aspens in their yellow splendour, but we were a week too late! The mountains and the fall-coloured grasses offered up their own glory. I liked the contrast of the purple mountains against the golden bushes.
