Having landed in my home state of Florida,

my annual painting retreat has begun.

This is my first painting for this season.

This seagull stood and looked in my eyes for several minutes

before she walked away and then flew into the sea breeze.

I loved the connection.

On my recent fabulous trip to Florida,

I was - as usual - captivated by the seabirds.

I painted a few small ones, but really enjoyed

this big one; this baby is almost life size.

Another beautiful day at the beach,

trying to get seagulls and sand pipers to stay still,

reading my book by Sue Monk Kidd,

of course eating seafood,

and getting plenty of Vitamin D.
