CENOTE An underwater illusion

                               CENOTE  by Sally Fraser

An underwater illusion. Cenote is a water cave in Spanish. If you are a swimmer , you can imagine swimming out of the cave up into the sunlight. The water is crystal blue , cold and pure. Swimming  is one of my passions and this painting was not planned, but just happened as I was painting with my Tuesday group and as it progressed and was finished that day everyone was stunned. Another artist said to call it Cenote!

Acrylic on a 24 x 30 wrapped canvas with 2 in sides.

"TIDE POOL 2", 12014, mixed media water ocean rocks, © Carol Nelson Fine Art

Tide Pool 2

This is another of my foam plate abstracts.  I started this one at a demo I did yesterday for the Broomfield Art Guild in Colorado.  The color palette is a little unusual for me - NO ORANGE!

It's nice to know I CAN do a painting without tapping into my Nickel Azo Gold acrylic paint.
