These works were the studies for the Adam Series inspired by the creation story in the Book of Genesis. Each study reflect the colors of the human skin: red, black, yellow, brown, and white (pink/peach). These works used the red hues along with red dirt. T
e use of dirt with the encaustic (beeswax, damar resin crystals, and pigment) and the movement within the pieces reflects the union of God, humans, and the earth.
