LICKETY-SPLIT By Visionary Artist Susan Medyn

Lickey-split is an American phrase possibly with a Scottish origin although it isn't commonly used outside the US.
It was seen as a nonsense word and in 1817 D. McKillop had a line in one of his poems that went:
"I rattl'd owre the A, B, C, as fast as lickitie An' read like hickitie."
This seems to flow with the imaginary and dreamlike quality of my work.
Lickety-Split is a 9" by 12" Ink and Watercolor Painting on Arches cold Press Paper. It is for sale for $400.
