This painting is another experiment using acrylic gel for texture. I'm not sure how successful it is using gel for a realistic painting. This horse would have been a lot easier to paint in oil.
I like the way the color sinks into the patterns made by the gel. I deliberately let the color bleed into the background by spritzing it with water - I was using fluid acrylics.
