Original Abstract Painting of Aspen by Colorado Artist Carol McIntyre - A work in progress

This is the first layer of paint I applied for my abstract painting based on the fall aspen trees here in Colorado. I used palette knives, a brayer and a squeegee to create the textures and patterns. The color palette is simple - yellows, golds, rusts, browns & white

At this stage of the painting process, I glazed over several areas, introduced the color blue and did some negative painting to maintain the sense of vertical trees in the forest. This painting is not complete. Another step to folllow.
